Human Rights and Opportunities
Reflecting on the first four years of OSI's Network Women's
Program, this comprehensive publication focuses on key women's
rights issues throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the
former Soviet Union—including past developments and hopes
for the future—and also presents reports from Soros foundations
in individual countries and areas of the region.
In March
2003, Bending the Bow won a Silver Award in the Special
Reports category of the Council on Foundations' annual Wilmer
Shields Rich competition for excellence in communications.
The publication was described by the judges as "well written
and organized," "a pleasure to look at," and "strong and compelling."
